Coating Thickness Gauge Calibration Procedure


It is necessary to change the basic calibration in the following cases:


a) The tip of the probe is worn.


b) Newly replaced probe


c) After the probe is repaired


D) Special use In the measurement, if the error is significantly outside the given range, the recalibration of the characteristics of the probe is called basic calibration. The probe can be recalibrated by entering 6 calibration values (1 zero and 5 thickness values).


Coating Thickness Gauge Calibration Procedure


1) Press and hold the button while the instrument is off, and press the button until it sounds long, then enter the basic calibration state;


2) Zero value first. Can be repeated multiple times in succession to obtain an average of multiple calibrations, which can improve the accuracy of calibration;


3) Using standard sheets, one thickness can be made multiple times in the order of increasing thickness. Each thickness should be at least 1.6 times the thickness of the previous one, ideally 2 times. For example: 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 μm. The maximum value should be close to but below the maximum measurement range of the probe;


Note: Each thickness should be at least 1.6 times the previous thickness, otherwise it will be considered as a basic calibration failure.


4) After inputting 6 calibration values, measure the zero point, the instrument will automatically turn off, and the new calibration value has been stored in the instrument. When turned on again, the instrument will operate at the new calibration value.
