Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge Probe Usage Precautions


The following small series to talk about, ultrasonic thickness gauge probe use precautions


Ultrasonic thickness gauge probes can be classified into straight probes, oblique probes, curvature probes, focus probes, and surface wave probes if they are classified by structure.


1. Straight probe: divided into single crystal longitudinal wave straight probe and double crystal longitudinal wave straight probe.


2. Oblique probe: including single crystal transverse wave oblique probe, double crystal transverse wave oblique probe, single crystal longitudinal wave oblique probe and creep wave probe.


3. Focusing probe: divided into point focus and line focus.


4. Surface wave probe: When the longitudinal wave incident angle is greater than or equal to the second critical angle, the transverse wave refractive angle is equal to 90 to form a surface wave.


5. With a curvature probe: including circumferential curvature and radial curvature. The circumferential curvature probe is suitable for the detection of axial defects such as seamless steel pipes, straight seam welded pipes, cylindrical forgings and shaft workpieces. When the workpiece diameter is less than 2000mm, it is necessary to grind the circumferential curvature to ensure good coupling. The radial curvature probe is suitable for the detection of radial defects such as seamless steel tubes, steel butt welds, tubular forgings and shaft workpieces. When the workpiece diameter is less than 600mm, it is necessary to grind the radial curvature to ensure good coupling.
